History and Mission of The Lucas Center

The Lucas Center is named after founder Dr. Michael Rubino's nephew, Lucas Michael Rubino. Though he only lived eighteen months due to a rare heart condition, he managed to touch the lives of a great number of people and change their lives for the better.

It is with his spirit for living and helping people in mind that we founded The Lucas Michael Rubino Family and Child Counseling Center in 2003. Pittsburg was chosen as the site for the center due to the long family history with the area. Many of Lucas' family members still live in the community and Lucas' grandparents, the Billecis, owned and operated their floral shop for many years just a few blocks from the Center. Thank you for making us a part of your community.

The Lucas Center employs a diverse group of therapists, all of whom are dedicated to helping others. This group has been hand selected and each person brings a particular aspect of Lucas' approach to life and our commitment to the community to the Center.

The Lucas Center is a proud member of:

The Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce

and:

Old Town Pittsburg
